Glenshesk v Ruairi Og Cushendall (20/5/12)
Cormac McClafferty slotted over a long free for the Ruairi Ogs and then Jack McAlister scored a great goal when a high ball into the Glenshesk penalty area and with a delicate flick of the wrists, planted the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Paddy Joe Graham added a free for Glenshesk to stop the rot. Christy McNaughton added a further 3 points, 1 from play and 2 from set pieces and there was just time for Cormac McClafferty to raise a white flag to leave the half time score:
Cushendall started were they left off and were knocking points from all angles. Cormac McClafferty sent over 2 long range frees, Niall McNaughton added a point, Pearse Bannon with another, and then Michael Delargy added a fine point and Cushendall were coasting. Eoin Hill added a point for Glenshesk and Paddy Joe Graham added another and Glenshesk had doubled their score.
There were good performances all over the field for Ruairi Og today. Fergus McCambridge, Stephen Walsh, Paddy Sharpe and Cormac McClafferty were excellent in defence and up top Ruairi Kinney, Michael Delargy, Pearse Bannon and Christy McNaughton were best but for me, Niall McNaughton was exceptional in midfield and scored 4 very good points from play.
