On Friday 21st June, Ruairí Óg CLG Chairman, Dan Delargy and senior team captain, Paddy Burke visited Glenann PS to present trophies to the winners of the art competition in which both local schools participated as part of the club's Community Day celebrations. Dan and senior team member, Christy Mc Naughton then did likewise on Monday 24th June by attending a school assembly in St Mary's PS to present the winners with their trophies.
The club also presented both schools with art supplies that will hopefully alleviate some of the pressure on next year's school budgets.
Thank you to both schools for giving Dan and the two players such warm welcomes and congratulations to all the winners.
Ruairí Óg CLG would like to thank the following people:
- the principals in both schools for agreeing to take part in the competition and supporting the club so enthusiastically
- Judges Eileen-Marie Mc Quillan & Maureen Mc Naughton
- Ciara Mc Cambridge and Maureen Mc Naughton for mounting and displaying all the pictures in the pavilion
- the teachers in all classes for motivating their children to produce such a high standard of art work
and last but not least
- the pupils for their great entries that produced such a fine gallery of art on Community Day!
