An cathaoirleach, Aidan Mc Ateer, would like to thank all the many volunteers for helping with the preparation, organisation and hospitality of the Murder Mystery evening on Friday night.
We were very proud to have such a great evening of fun and laughter to open the Heart of the Glens Annual festival. We would like to wish Festival Chairman Kieran Demsey and the rest of Festival Committee good luck for the rest of the many, many events.
Aidan thanked all those who bought tickets and came along on the night for the superb sellout show, the Parish for the use of the Parish Centre for those many hours of practice, The Bridge Coffee Shop & Restaurant for the delicious buffet meal, to the genius that is Mark Mc Alister for his wonderfully written play and his direction and production of the show and his wife Helen for her support,
To Mandy & David Abrahams for the stage setup and their expertise with the sound & lighting systems, to our fiddle player, the army of volunteers for their hard work in setting up and then clearing up (so as the Hall is ready for the children's activities on Saturday morning at 9am), to Anne Burke for her hard work for the last number of weeks to ensure that we had a night to remember and last but not least -
to the fabulous cast - without you we have no show - it was a great mix of some who are very experienced players and some who stepped out for the first very time tonight in front of a 200 sell out crowd - you were fantastic and gave us lots of fun and made us laugh.
To all those who attended tonight - visitors, locals, neighbouring Glens people - we hope that you enjoyed the evening as much as we did and thank you for your kind support.
We invite you all to join us at our Country Sports event on Monday night at the club grounds for children's sports, adults sports and skill challenges, BBQ, tossing the sheaf and music from local performers from 6pm. See you then.
Go raibh maith agat
Have a wonderful festival.
