Terence 'Sambo' Mc Naughton along with 14 other great county hurlers were presented to the crowd at Croke Park on Sun 8th Sept between the minor and senior finals as the best players from the '80s not to win All-Ireland medals. This was indeed a great honour for Terence himself, his family and Ruairí Óg CLG and once again congratulations from everyone at the club.
Terence's recognition also reminds us of the other great Cushendall hurlers on the '89 Antrim team: James Mc Naughton, Danny Mc Naughton (RIP) and Leonard Mc Keegan. Their great deeds and achievements at that time have inspired several generations to play the game both at club and county level and for that, Ruairí Óg is blessed to have such men as part of our history.

Many thanks to John Mc Ilwaine for the photograph.
