A late run of scores saw Cushendall snatch victory from Naomh Eanna’s grasp at Hightown on Sunday morning. The home team were two points in front going into the last ten minutes of the game and looked to be in a good position to hold on for the win, but the next ten minutes were all Cushendall and the turned the game on its head to take the league points
Frankie McCormick started the scoring run with a good point from corner forward before Joseph McLaughlin added a point from a free to cut the gap to two. The same player added one from play to level the score, before Calach Mooney edged Cushendall in front with a point. With two minutes to go the visitors were award a penalty and centre forward Padraig McKillop blasted home to put four between the sides, and though Naomh Eanna’s top scorer Ronan Edgar pulled a point back, McKillop had the last score of the day to seal a four point win.
