Cushendall 2.09
Ballycastle 0.02
They say good things come to those who wait, and so it proved today in Cushendun for our under 13s. 6 weeks since booking their place in the final, the boys were chomping at the bit to get going.
A goal in the first minute from Connlaodh McNaughton settled any nerves and set the boys on their way to a very impressive victory. Goalkeeper Shane Coulter pulled off several great saves at crucial times, including one from a second half 20 yard free. In front of him, the defence were solid throughout, holding a fine Ballycastle forward line scoreless from play. Midfield duo of Jack O'Reilly and Dylan McNaughton worked tirelessly for the 40 minutes to supply their forwards with quality ball. The very impressive forward line looked dangerous throughout, with some great passing moves resulting in a final tally of 2.09.
Connlaodh Mc Naughton 2-0
Cahir McCambridge 0-06
Nicholas McLaughlin 0-02
Shane McQuillian 0-01
It was great to see the boys being rewarded for all their hard work throughout the year. Massive well done to all the players and of course coaches Martin, Kevin, Natty and Figsy .
Thanks to the North Antrim board and Cushendun Emmetts for organising today's final.
Thanks to Mickey Morgan for pictures and report.
