Research has proven that sport & exercise, hydration, healthy eating and sleep all play a major role in supporting young people during the stress at exam time.
This backs up the Ruairí Óg policy of continuing to play games during exams. For our minors and U16 hurlers we play at the weekend so as they are not out the night before an exam. The minors play on a Friday night and we move our U16 games from a Monday to a Sunday, or if need be, cancel the game if it cannot be moved to a weekend slot. Playing sport enables them to 'let off some steam' and helps to relieve the stress during exam time.
Please ensure that their coach is aware of dates of exams as this helps the club to, where necessary rearrange games & training, so as the evening before an exam the players can do some last minute revision and more importantly get a good nights sleep.
We would like to take this opportunity to pass on our hopes that all our hurlers and camogiers, in their exams and in their sport, can be the very best that you can be. You can't do anymore than your do your best.
If you have any concerns regarding their GAA activities please do not hesitate to speak to their coach's, Juvenile Chairman Niall Kearney, or any Executive committee member.
