Schools Out - For the Weekend
The fundraising completed (and boy did our local community support us - thank you) the bags are packed, sandwiches made, kit washed, extra hurls bought, foam rollers donated, boots cleaned, supplies for the weekend ready and waiting for the bus to arrive for an 8 hour journey to almost the furthest away point possible to drive to in Ireland as this mighty bunch -
the 2019 North Antrim and All County Féile Blitz winning warriors -
are on their travels today heading for the Féile Finals in Cork and will be hosted by Buttevant GAA over the weekend.
As qualifying as the third team from Antrim we were assigned a place in Division 7.
It all starts today at 7am leaving Cushendall heading for 2 games in Kinturk.
5.30pm Game 1 v Kanturk
6.45pm Game 2 v Ennistymon Iom
It’s then from Kinturk to Buttevant for the first night of our weekend adventure away.
The 3rd game in the Group is on Saturday in Buttevant.
10am Game 3 v Buttevant Gaa
Then it’s lunch and a long drive to the Kerry Gaa Centre either playing in
2pm Shield Quarter Final or
3pm Cup Quarter final
Return to Buttevant from Kerry Gaa Centre for their second overnight stay with our hosts.
If successful on Saturday all roads lead to Coachford about 45 minutes for either -
12pm Shield Semifinal and a possible
2pm Final
Or
1pm Cup Semifinal and a possible
3pm Final
Either way it’s then a drive to Portlaoise for dinner and then back up North home.
Safe travels to all and happy Hurling to this fine young team.
We would like to thank all those who helped with the fundraising and also Mr Brady Principal, Mr Mc Ilwaine and all the staff at St Killian’s College, Garron Tower for helping with rearranging their end of year exams for the boys Féile Finals trip of a lifetime.
Thank you for donations for the T-shirts from The Lurig Bar and for the tops from GEM Interiors Ltd
