On Monday 14th October the first training session, which covered CPR, serious bleeding, choking and Cardic Arrest, of a two part Defibrillation training course was held in the Pavillion. The course was organised by Dalriada Urgent Care Ltd who are based in Ballymena. The second part takes place next Monday in Spruce House, Braid Valley Hospital, Ballymena
The course was open to all members of the public and there were 18 trainees in attendance, six of whom were from Ruairí Óg CLG. The members who attended were Marion, John & Caolan Carson, Mary Delargy, Clare Burke and Martin Magee.
It is essential that we have a larger pool of members trained who can use a Defib device, ideally at least one mentor from each team. We will look at further training in due course.
