There will be a Club Meeting on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm in the Pavilion.
This meeting is to discuss/agree any Nominations, Motions or Recommendations that we should make for the County Convention which is on 9th December and the
cut-off date for papers is Friday 25th October.
Club member, Chris Dornan, has made a proposal which the County Board are very interested in. It is that next years League is based on 10 teams and each team plays each other once, giving 9 games. It then splits into two groups of 5, the Top 5 play for the League Title, and the Bottom 5 play for Relegation, with everyone playing each other in their respective group.
With the County team playing a round robin mini-league, four games in May (two of which are at home), in the Leinster Hurling Championship and the top two gain entry into the Leinster Quarter Finals. This will put severe pressure on club league hurling and Chris’s proposal reduces the league games from 18 to 13.
Any member unable to attend please pass your views/ideas onto any member of the Executive Committee for discussion at the meeting.
