Ruairi Og take on St. Galls in the 2012 Antrim Senior Hurling Championship quarter final on Sunday in what is a rematch of last year’s semi final. In the game last year Ruairi Og snatched victory from the jaws of defeat thanks to a couple of late goals and I am sure St. Galls will be looking for a bit of revenge this time round. The Belfast side are backboned by county stars Karl Stewart and Ciaran Mc Gourty who are well supported by Aodhan Gallagher, CJ Mc Gourty and Sean Burke, the Milltown men showed last year, with their replay victory over Dunloy and their spirited performance against Cushendall, that on their day they are a match for anyone in the county. Ruairi Og will approach the game in positive mood, with Neil Mc Manus and Shane Mc Naughton returning from time spent in New York Cushendall will be able to call on the services of two of the best attackers in Ulster, Aaron Graffin is having another fine season at the back and he could well be given the task of picking up Galls danger man Stewart. Cushendall have also introduced several young players to the senior grade this year so don’t be surprised if you see Eoghan Campbell or Paddy Burke making their senior championship debuts at some stage. All in all an intriguing match in prospect which could well go right down to the wire but if Cushendall play to their potential then there is no reason they cannot emerge victorious and set up a semi final clash with either Dunloy or Ballycastle.
