Four members from Ruairí Óg CLG, Alex Emerson, Ali Mc Cambridge, Niall Kearney and Martin Magee attended the first of the county's development workshops that was held in the Dunsilly Hotel in Antrim last night. The meeting started at slightly after 7pm and ended at approximately 9.30pm.
There were four main topics up for discussion: Competition Structures, Fixtures scheduling, League regulations & Championship regulations. The Ruairí Óg delegates gave feedback on all these subjects including a suggestion on how to accommodate a ten team league but with fewer fixtures(from Chris Dornan), problems with this year's juvenile fixtures and concerns about the demands placed on our minor players especially if they are involved with county teams.
The tone of the meeting was very much about highlighting difficulties within Antrim GAA but more importantly finding solutions to these problems. The next three workshops will be held on Tue 22nd Oct, 29th Oct and 5th Nov at 7pm and they are open to any member who wishes to attend.
