Ruairí Óg CLG and Camogie Club held their Annual Celebration
& Presentation Night on Sat 23rd November in Cushendall Golf Club.
One hundred and fifty guests attended and everyone had a very enjoyable night
helped in no small measure by the happy and celebratory mood of the camogie
girls who ensured there was a great ambience throughout the proceedings.
Though he was not there in person, we know the sponsor of our senior camogie
and hurling teams, Brian Mc Naughton was there in spirit, but we were delighted
to welcome the attendance of the Senior Reserves' sponsor, Harvey Formwork's
Hugh & Moira Harvey. A big thank you to the representatives of the
local schools and clubs who attended to show their support and to demonstrate
just how well we work together in making Cushendall the unique place that we
all believe it is.
We would like to thank Rosie for an exceptionally tasty meal
and to all her staff for working so hard attending to our every need. Thank you
to DJ, Aidan and his assistant who were there from early evening setting up
the sound system and projector and then made sure there was music after
the dinner to keep everyone on the dance floor. And to Paddy Mc Laughlin
for the film-show that captured so many poignant and special moments in the
club's journey during 2019, we are indebted as always. Likewise, to Sean
Paul Mc Killop who was there on the night to photograph our celebrations but,
who like Paddy and Neal O' Boyle, takes so many photographs of our players in
action across all of the age groups during the year, again we say a massive
thank you. We very much appreciated the efforts of Eimer O' Hara,
Maureen Mc Alister, Martin Magee and Michael Quinn who ensured the awards part
of the night ran smoothly and without a hitch. Congratulations to all our
award-winners and thank you to the various people who presented those awards.
Thanks also to Chairpersons, Dan Delargy and again, Maureen who both spoke
eloquently about the efforts of so many both on and off the pitch.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Cushendall Golf Club for
making their wonderful premises available to host our Celebration Night and to
all their members, bar staff and officials for making us feel so welcome - we
are truly grateful.
