U8 Hurling Success

Congrats to Our Under 8 Hurlers who won their Divisional Final v Dunloy at Seven Towers Leisure Centre on Sunday 19th February 2017. After 2 weeks of qualifying first at Cross and Passion and then St Patrick's Ballymena they finished off in style with a thrilling extra time victory over Cuchullains on a score line of 4 goals to 3. During normal time despite dominating possession they were one goal in arrears with the full time whistle approaching but they showed true Ruairi Og spirit forcing extra time with a last minute goal. Our young boys continued where they left off and scored 2 goals in succession and despite a late consolation from Dunloy they were not be denied. Many thanks to our parents who travelled in large numbers, our Mentors Ryan McNaughton, Colin Laffan and Connel Trainor but the true stars on the day were our young Ruairis. For the record the Panel on the day included: Jake Laffan, Charlie McNaughton, Cabhan McKeegan, Aodhan McCormick, Brian McNeill, Finnon Rodgers, John Patrick Delargy, Conall Og Trainor and Jayden McNaughton.
